Sanctus Real and Blue Violin are excited to announce a songwriting contest for all creative music lovers! Do you have a song that’s full of hope, faith, and freedom? Submit your original song for a chance to have it recorded by the band and officially released on all major streaming platforms, along with a music video.

Contest Submission Period: February 1 – March 31, 2025
Winner Announcement: April 10, 2025
Grand Prize:
Recording Session: The winning song will be professionally recorded with Sanctus Real and Blue Violin in a top-tier studio.
Music Video: You’ll get to shoot a one-day music video with a professional film crew alongside the band!
Live Performances: Your song will be performed live on tour by Sanctus Real and Blue Violin!
Stage Introduction: You’ll be introduced on stage as the winning songwriter during the May 2025 Sanctus Real and Blue Violin tour.
How to Enter:
Original Songs Only: Your song must be 100% original and not available for commercial release. No copyrighted material can be used.
Song Requirements: Your song should include voice, guitar (electric or acoustic), piano/keyboard, drums, and violin. We’ll need sheet music (PDF) and a full audio demo (MP3 format only) of the song.
Age & Location: You must be 16 years or older and live in the United States, US Territories, Canada, or Mexico. You’ll need to provide proof of age (ID or parental consent).
Submit Your Song: The entry form will ask for the full name(s) of the songwriter(s), and make sure to upload your song’s sheet music and full demo.
Winning Song:
The winning song will be selected by the members of Sanctus Real and Blue Violin based on creativity, quality, and overall impact. If the song doesn’t meet the standards, it may be shared on social media platforms instead of being officially released.
Testimonial Video:
If you win, we’ll ask you to submit a 2-minute video sharing how your Christian faith has impacted your life and influenced your songwriting. This will help the audience connect with you and your song. Make sure to submit your video by April 17, 2025.
Song Theme:
We’re partnering with Reclaiming Hope, a nonprofit supporting survivors of human trafficking. For a chance to stand out, we encourage you to write songs focused on the themes of hope and freedom.
The Story Behind the Song:
See the child. She’s 14, she’s 7, she’s 37. And she’s broken—manipulated, abused, captive. No matter her age, she is the frightened, isolated, trafficked child at heart.
When she sees the teddy bear peeking out from the top of a Hope Bag, the child’s heart is warmed and comforted.
When she is freed from captivity, with the help of trained law enforcement, she will cling to that Hope Bag bear as if it is a lifeline, lifting her out of a sea of despair.
The Hope Bag bear will be her constant companion as she uses for the first time her own toothbrush, her own Chapstick, her own journal. She’s on a path to health and joy, with each step leading her away from the pain that seemed endless, from which there appeared to be no escape.
The Hope Bag bear is just the first step. There’s work ahead, and it won’t be easy, but it is hers to live.
